Very pleased with the results of my therapy and glad that I am once again able to work and play like I once did before injured. When I first came into Therapy Solutions, I was on crutches and unable to move and function as I needed. Therapy is the solution, not the problem.

I was informed that I will need bilateral/both knees replaced at the same time. Not hearing much positive support and the fact that not many doctors will do it, I was not encouraged. I started pre-surgery physical therapy with Brian at Therapy Solutions. We reached a point where he felt I was ready for surgery. Being properly prepared removed much of the anxiety associated with this type of surgery. The doctor following surgery and the post-surgical therapists said I was the best-prepared patient they ever had. My pain level was manageable between 4 and 5. I was released the following day from the hospital and could walk unassisted in 3 days following surgery. I did use a cane just for insurance. I can walk up and down stairs within a month of surgery (both knees). I feel this was due to the pre-surgery physical therapy Brian provided. When I selected the doctor and hospital, I researched the best I could find, a Dr. Firestone in Scottsdale, Arizona, Bone, and Joint Replacement Center. He hand selects his team through the whole process and uses the latest technology and specializes in pain management. If he is not the world’s best, he is in the elite group that is. Next to the surgeon, Brian, and Therapy Solutions were the most critical component in my success. Therapy is the solution, not the problem. Do what they tell you and you will have a positive outcome, much better than you might expect. Brian and Therapy Solutions will enhance the positive outcome of your surgery, help manage the pain, and get you rehabbed quickly. It was a positive experience.

After therapy, I am now on my way to a healthier me.

Before therapy, I was unable to do any long jogging without pain. Eventually, I had to stop jogging altogether. After therapy, I am now on my way to a healthier me. My therapist was able to pinpoint my problem areas and give me the knowledge to strengthen my body and get me as active as I want to be.

In the beginning, I did not believe in physical therapy but my doctor made me go. After about the 3rd visit I started to notice a difference. I became a believer in PT and started to look forward to my visits with Tom. When I started, I had so much back pain and issues with my hip flexors and now after only 15 visits I feel 99% better. I came to Therapy Solutions a mess—had very severe pain in my arm and shoulder. I love to bake and this pain was causing a lot of problems. I continued to bake and the pain just got to the point I knew I had to do something to find out what to do. Went to the family doctor. He injected my shoulder area. Woo the pain was gone but wasn’t the fix I need, said I need to go to therapy for strengthening. I was seen by Tom, each session it got better and as I continue to come and do the exercises he gave me and I was able to continue what I love to do – ‘Bake’ – Now while I’m doing my baking if I feel my shoulder tingling or any pain I know to rest instead of continue. I’m now baking and enjoying it instead of ‘I can’t do this.’ Tom has been and done many things for me and has helped me and I remember there is no such thing as ‘I can’t do this.’ Thanks, Tom, you are awesome.

When I first started I was unable to use my right hand to even hold a pen. Every single movement hurt, every touch to my hand hurt. Therapy has helped me regain my strength as well as a range of motion. The pain I started with is completely eliminated.

Therapy Solutions has been a great experience for me. It has helped me to gain strength in my wrist after my wrist surgery. My therapist Jared has helped me so much in giving me exercises to do at home and Therapy Solutions has been a great help. The goal is to regain full strength and full use of my wrist.

I can now walk or stretch without pain or discomfort

Since starting therapy my walking ability has improved so that I can walk normally. My leg was painful when walking short or long distances.

I am no longer skeptical of physical therapy.

I really don’t know what it was that caused my problem with my right shoulder in the first place but, by the time I came to see Kara for the first time, I had spent most of the summer not using my right arm in an attempt to ‘let it heal’. I was at that point unable to use it, even if I wanted to. I could not perform basic acts of self-care. I could not lift my arm high enough to wash my head, dry or style my hair, spray hairspray on the top or back of my head. I could not reach around to the trash bag hanging on the back of the console in my car. When riding in the passenger side, I could not reach straight out to grab the car door to close it with my right arm. So many simple, basic functions of everyday life were suddenly impossible for me to handle.

I was too afraid to even attempt many of the recreational activities that would have normally filled the summer months; kayaking, fishing, horseshoes, and badminton with grandchildren, just the thought of them made me wince.

I had no prior experience with physical therapy and frankly, had low expectations. I was shocked to find my mobility improved after the very first appointment. Even though the treatments were at times painful, Kara was very friendly and easy to work with. I came back twice a week and then once a week and in less than two months am now able to use my arm in every way I should. I am amazed at how that gal was capable of putting my life back on track. I am no longer skeptical of physical therapy. I encourage anyone with mobility issues to give it a try. I am so very happy that I did!

I came to Therapy Solutions with my walker. I started therapy a few weeks before my knee replacement. After surgery, I could not turn in bed easily; now I can! I couldn’t get in the tub so I sponged off. Now I can easily get in the tub and shower.

Tom worked hard with me and it wasn’t easy. I did my exercises at home and with Tom’s help, I can now walk around the house easily without a cane or walker. I can now go the 10 steps downstairs and am able to vacuum and get in my car easily. I didn’t think I could get this far, but with Tom at Therapy Solutions, I can do more than I thought. Before coming to do physical therapy, I could hardly walk any distance, and even a blanket touching my feet at night was out of the question. Now my feet are pain-free at night and I have been able to go back to taking daily walks with my family. Before starting therapy, I was unable to walk more than 10 minutes, walk stairs to do laundry or mow my lawn. I had to ice my knees every night due to pain. After working with Tom, I am able to now do all normal functions without causing pain.

When I came in here 8 weeks ago, I had no idea of what to expect. When I decided to have the surgery, I thought it would be a breeze. Little did I know of what therapy entailed. Being a person of low pain tolerance, I had a very difficult time for a while. Tom then suggested I get a bike to work with at home. That was really a big help and it was then I think I turned the corner to getting better. I also have to thank my husband, Chris, for helping me do my exercises at home. I found out that you have to work at home too. Now I can bend my knee without a problem which was the biggest hurdle to get over. Riding bike is easy and I can walk short distances without a problem. I realize a knee replacement will take some time to get completely better, but thanks to Tom and Therapy Solutions, I’m on my way.

I sleep better, and am able to lift things with very little or no pain at all.

I came to Therapy Solutions with tendonitis in my right hand. I had a lot of pain when writing, lifting objects as small as a plate, bending my fingers, and raising my index finger. Had a lot of trouble with my left leg. Now it’s so much better. He did a good job in my leg – very satisfied.

I’ve got no pain whatsoever.

So it all started with a firm jerk and a pop; next I noticed pains running from my elbow and into my right hand. I passed it off as a pulled muscle and just dealt with it. Then the day came that I couldn’t use it at all, and my elbow was swollen like a grapefruit. After x-rays and an examination, my “pulled muscle” turned out to be torn from my elbow. I was then referred to Therapy Solutions and was assigned to Eric. Eric was very helpful, friendly, and didn’t make me feel like just another face. When I came to start my therapy, the simple act of picking up a glass of water was unbearable. Now just a couple of months later, I’ve got no pain whatsoever. I got to admit I was skeptical that I’d see any results that I couldn’t achieve on my own, but here I sit profoundly proven wrong thanks to Eric and Therapy Solutions.

My arm feels as good as new.

My problem was my upper left arm. It was a problem for about 9 months. I was very limited in what I could do. I couldn’t wash my back or reach beyond the first shelf in the kitchen cupboard or get something from the back seat of the car. After working for a few weeks with Eric, my arm feels as good as new. My doctor was amazed at the mobility.

I came to Therapy Solutions two weeks after a complete shoulder replacement. At that time, I could not move my arm above my heart. Working with Adrienne was an easy task. I felt that she was truly concerned about my health. As of now, I can move my shoulder above my head without any pain. Adrienne was very encouraging and very supportive of my efforts. She stressed very strongly not to over exercise and to stop if it became painful. My doctor was amazed at the mobility. Thank you Adrienne for a job well done.

I had intense pain in my shoulder whenever I reached up high, to the side, or behind. With just a few short weeks of PT and at-home exercise, I am now able to move freely and without pain.

I can do all of those things with only minor irritation.

I began noticing shoulder pain in the fall of 2017. I saw a doctor in April 2018. When my doctor told me how much improvement I might see with a PRP injection followed by physical therapy after months of pain and increasing immobility, I was skeptical. I received a PRP injection and started PT, hopeful to just be able to move my arm behind my back or out to the side without having surgery. At the time I could not put on a coat, lift my arms in front of me, reach out to grab coffee at a drive up window, rake my yard, or even open a jar without pain due to a worn out rotator cuff. 8 weeks later, I can do all of those things with only minor irritation. I am grateful for Tom’s help and hope to have put off surgery for a while. The stretches and exercises he taught me, as well as practical advice for increasing reps and intensity, will help keep me moving!

I am now pain-free, can walk without any trouble, climb stairs, and ride in a vehicle.

I am grateful for the care and treatment I received from the physical therapist I was assigned to at Therapy Solutions. I thought I was facing another back surgery as the symptoms I had were comparable to the previous 2 surgeries. My primary caregiver suggested we try physical therapy. My therapist was able to help me using ultrasound and exercises. Before beginning treatment, I was unable to sleep due to pain in my right hip going down to my ankle. I could only walk a short distance—less than a block—could not climb stairs without pulling myself up, nor could I ride in a vehicle without increased pain. Prior to seeing Therapy Solutions and Jessie, vertigo and the effects of (it) was a continual, daily thing I lived with. Now, current day vertigo is rare and I am able to both be with family as well as be productive around the house and yard.

My pain started from the bottom of my left foot, continued on to my leg and on to my hip and back. I considered having Tom Henke as my therapist. He worked on my leg and all the way up to my hip and back. Now I can lay on my side and have no pain in my leg and hip thanks to Tom!

My range of motion improved and activities that previously caused the pain were no longer a problem.

I came to Brian at Therapy Solutions with hip and leg pain when raking, shoveling, and doing other strenuous activities one year after hip replacement surgery. He described the problem as “mechanical,” meaning exercises to strengthen the hip and leg would be helpful. With the exercise program, he designed, my range of motion improved and activities that previously caused the pain were no longer a problem. Thanks to Brian, after physical therapy over the years for racquetball injuries (elbow, shoulder, hamstring, Achilles), I am still playing racquetball and have almost no physical limitations (other than old age).

My problem started a year or so ago. I could hardly walk, stand, sit, lay, etc. due to the fact my hip was in such bad shape. So on October 30, 2017, I opted to have a hip replacement. My hip was in such horrible shape that pins/screws were used on my hip. I started therapy in November and have continued to progress slowly, but still progressing daily. Tom has been great at continuing to push and encourage constantly. Teaching me new skills and troubleshooting any issues I have in my therapy. Always willing to work with me at any time needed. I credit my recovery to the care and advice I was given by Tom.

Since having both shoulders replaced, I have enjoyed a much better quality of life!! What once caused pain is now nearly pain-free. Motions I could not do without pain have greatly improved and with little to no pain. I credit my recovery to the care and advice I was given by Tom. Now my tingling and pain are gone.

I came in with tingling in upper right arm. I was afraid I would need neck surgery as what happened with left arm/neck. Tom was so great. He started me out on a few simple movements and the tingling and pain would stop. I was determined that it was coming from poor posture when sitting. He worked on a few trigger points and the tingling and pain quit. We increased exercises and different kinds of stretching. Now my tingling and pain are gone. If it does tingle, I know just what to do to make it stop. I always request Tom. He has helped me numerous times with other joints and muscle areas. Thank you Tom for your excellent help and compassion for my well-being.

Today I can pick anything up off the floor and it is not painful.

When I began with Therapy Solutions in 2018, I had just received an injection in my back for narrowing of stenosis. My neurosurgeon felt the injection and physical therapy would help me for about a month. The neurosurgeon expected to hear from me within 4+ weeks. When I began PT with Tom, my back and leg muscles were very stiff. Picking anything up off the floor was even painful. I needed help by holding on to something when I picked it up.

Today I can pick anything up off the floor and it is not painful. I can sleep at night without excruciating pain. The amount of ibuprofen I take has been reduced greatly. Tom has given me the resources and encouragement to make me 80% better in my lifestyle. Thank you, Tom, and Therapy Solutions.

I do feel stronger, not so winded, able to come up the basement steps with less trouble and can continue instead of having to stop and rest. Not as tired. I’m not 100% but with the tools you give me, and will continue doing my exercise at home. I used to be stiff and sore upon waking up in the morning. My low back and neck were always tight and hurt. I was not able to lift my children without pain radiating in my back. I would never lie down on the floor to play with my children because my low back/hip would lock up and prevent me from being able to sit up. Now, I wake up without any pain in my neck, low back, or hips. I can pick up my children, play with them, and get down on their level without any problems.

Therapy is the only way to get better.

When I went for therapy I was in a lot of pain. First day I got some relief. Got better each time I got a treatment. The exercises helped also. Tom Henke did an excellent job on helping to relieve the pain in my back.

Four weeks ago, vertical blinds fell down over sink area. Tried to place back up (which are heavy). Pulled a muscle in back. Went to Dr. which referred PT. After my surgery, my hip was sore and stiff with very limited range of motion. The different exercises made a noticeable difference after each visit. First of all, it allowed me mental relief by identifying my injury as a muscle injury versus a spinal injury which allowed me to understand that normal activities were acceptable and my life would continue as normal without potential surgery and extended rehab. Second, it provided immediate relief from severe pain by using ultrasound, massage, and exercises designed to stretch and stimulate the affected area. The PT continued to increase the intensity of the activity to allow me to regain strength and confidence in her direction. She also set an exercise routine I can easily follow at home to expedite my recovery. I give thanks to the service.

I’m now pain-free.

Before I started at Therapy Solutions, I had severe pain in my hip, knee, foot, and groin area. With the ultrasound and exercises I was doing, I’m now pain-free.

The training exercise I was given allowed me to more than triple that mileage within 3 weeks.

Came in for persistent shin splints for ~2 years. I could not run more than ~3 miles per week. The training exercise I was given allowed me to more than triple that mileage within 3 weeks. Overall I have been very pleased with my visit.

Now I’m back to work and getting better every day.

I started on this journey Feb 28 with a new left knee replacement. After about two weeks I came to Therapy Solutions because my friend had his therapy with Tom Henke. So even before the surgery, I knew I was going to be with him. Now when my first visit he taught me so much and what to do. I did exactly what Tom told me to do or I could even call him. He returned my call as soon as he could and I had my answer. I know if I hadn’t done exactly what he told me I would not be able to be totally healed. I am 64 soon to be 65 and I feel great thanks to Tom and Therapy Solutions. I will always recommend Tom and the others there. Now I’m back to work and getting better every day. The treatment techniques have given me the ability to move my shoulder, lift my arm, & reduced the pain and I am sleeping much better.

I was having severe pain in my right shoulder and also some pain in my left shoulder and both elbows for several months. Went to see an orthopedic surgeon. The x-rays they took showed a possible rotator cuff tear & thinning with some shoulder arthritis starting. Was referred to Therapy Solutions for rehab and shoulder exercises… I am pleased with the progress I have made. The treatment techniques have given me the ability to move my shoulder, lift my arm, & reduced the pain and I am sleeping much better. I am working toward a full recovery. I thank Tom and Therapy Solutions for that.

The worst problem after I first hurt my shoulder was trying to sleep. It was almost impossible to rest. To lay anywhere on my right side hurt and if I tried to lay on my left, then there was no position where I could hold my right side up that it wouldn’t hurt too. I can now lay on my right side. My shoulder still hurts when I work but not as bad as before.

[It was] difficult bringing my arm up to brush my hair—now, no problem. Could not raise the arm to brush my teeth—now, no problem. Could not sleep for more than a couple hours—now, I can sleep up to 6 hours at a time. Could not lift the coffee pot with the right arm—now, no problem. Now can carry it to the table and pour coffee. Could not use my right arm to close the vehicle door—now, I can close the door using the right arm.

My arm is greatly strengthening.

This is regarding therapist Adrienne. I was very pleased with her therapy. She could find my painful area and give me the right exercise or treatment to relieve the pain. She was very gentle and informed me not to push the exercise until it caused pain – take it easy. She is very personable and I would definitely recommend her to anyone. My arm is greatly strengthening. Thank you!

Therapy has improved my sleep.

Had pain in the right shoulder. Could not sleep on either side, causing pain in the shoulder. Therapy has improved my sleep. No pain when laying on either side. I have an increased range of movement in the shoulder.

I had rotator cuff surgery in February 2017. Tom was my physical therapist who helped get back on the road to recovery over the next several months. Last week, I was having intense pain in my shoulder and was unsure if I had done some damage to my repaired shoulder. I contacted Tom and explained my situation. He was very patient and kind, listening to my concerns and offering some advice. By the time we ended our phone call, he had worked me into his schedule first thing the following morning to meet with me.
